On the 12th day of each month a bunch of bloggers take 12 photos of their day. Here are mine.
If you’d like to see the collection of everyone’s photos, go to Chad’s page. You can see all of my pictures from previous months here.
I forgot my camera in my office, so I couldn’t start taking pictures until I got to work. This is my office with a view.
I had a job interview in the morning, and I wore my Chucks. Good idea or bad idea?
Leftovers.
My kids make a weekly podcast called “The Guad Squad,” and you can find it at GuadSquad.org.
We put the finishing touches on a claymation video of a touching tale of two enimies that decide to settle things with a dance-off. Look for us on YouTube soon….Dog VS Cat.
At home I store my needles in recycled Crystal Light packages. I’m too cheap to buy syringe thingies.
My insurance will officially start covering my diabeeeeetus in May. I cannot wait!
Whats up with their feet?!?
Daniel and I went and had Asian.
It looks much worse than it it. The carmel is completly sugar free…and the ice cream is made with Splenda. It’s still a little indulgent, but it’s much better for me than the real thing.
Nothing makes me forget the world like a cozy bed and a good book. In this case, Breaking Dawn will do.
I was lucky to get the opportunity to bring a dozen kids to an Arizona Cardinals game on Monday. Two funny things happened at the game that made me smile:
** First, when we walked down to our seats (which were AMAZING and FREE!), we saw the Monday Night Football anchors recording their pre-show. They were reading froma tele-prompter, and one kid turned to another and said, “Look, they are doing karaoke.”
** Then, Jordin Sparks came out to sing the National Anthem, and the kids went nutso. They also had a sign-language interpreter. During the anthem, a kid pulled my shirt and whispered a question, “Why is that lady doing sign language? Is Jordin Sparks deaf?”
Working with children can be daunting and appear fruitless at times…but these little moments make up for it all.
To some people he was just another face on MTV’s The Real World. To others he humanized the struggles of those living with HIV/AIDS.
To me, he was the first homosexual invited into our home that wasn’t a cross-dressing freakshow on the Phil Donahue show.
I was 13, and our family was dealing with my teenage sister’s pregnacy, and I was lucky that my Christian parents weren’t filtering too much of the television I was watching.
I was lucky to see a positive, homosexual relationship at this important time in my life.
With all of the events that are happening now with Prop H8, and locally prop 102, it’s easy to forget that just fourteen years ago it was an anomally to see a sane homo on the tv. We certainly have a long way to go…and as Maya Angelou said, “This rocky road’s not paved for us.”
Or Samuel Smiles, “Progress, of the best kind, is comparatively slow. Great results cannot be achieved at once; and we must be satisfied to advance in life as we walk, step by step.”
Today I threw away the four (I know) tubes of Chapstick I had, and purchased four (I know!) tubes of Cocoa Butter Lip Balm. The Cocoa Butter appears to be a bit more natural as far as ingredients.
Perhaps this is the first step toward Chapstick sobriety.
Don’t judge me. I’m one of those people that likes non-traditional baby names. I blame my mother for this…she’s the one, afterall that named me the oh-so-traditional “Michael.”
And even though I have no intention of going out and getting prego this weekend, here’s a list of baby names I like:
** Chet
** Langdon (my mom’s maiden name)
** Booker
** Garvey
** Didion
** Omega (stole this one from Celeste and Mikey…I’m guessing they won’t be using it post-divorce)
** Abe
** Max
** Barker
** Digby
** Yorik
What do you think? Am I destined to completely tramatize my first born?
