I personally manage a couple of websites. The list starts with, of course, this one. And I also do most of the technical stuff for SweetTalk.org. And all of that got a little more complicated last week when I started a blogging club with children (ages 5-13).
Now I’ve got my hands on 20 blogs. All running WordPress. I’ll probably be posting a few links once some of the kids get good content posted.
I’m also looking for any Phoenix area bloggers to come speak to the group in March. Pass this on to anyone you know in Phoenix.

My friend Jill started doing DailyMugshot, and it looked too cool not to try. You just take a photo of yourself each day and uplopad it to their site, and they make a cool little slideshow like this one:

I’m only on day three; I’ll update y’all when I get more photos in there.

I go to the doctor’s office tomorrow to get my A1C results. I haven’t had an A1C since I was first diagnosed…and back then it was OFF THE CHARTS!
It’s been a while since I’ve sat down with a doctor and talked about my numbers, and I’m kind of nervous.
In related news, I gave up caffiene (except my morning coffee) on last week’s Sweet Talk Podcast, and I ended up caving a few days later. I’m weak.
On episode five (which will be on the web next Monday) I’m going to be doing a segment on Twitter and Diabetes Managment. So far I’ve interviewed some really great people.

Tucked in or not?
Black shoes or brown?
Hair up or down?
I really miss having Cindy as a roommate , because I used to always run into her room and ask her which shoes I should wear, or if my shirt should be tucked in.
Right now I’m sitting here trying to figure out if I should tuck in my shirt today, or leave it untucked. Wouldn’t it be cool if there was an Internet site where you could upload two pictures, and users would rate which one looked better? I’d imagine that it would be a fairly easy site to create. If you’re smart enough, and like the idea, you can steal that idea from me.

On this week’s Sweet Talk, we discussed how caffeine can alter your blood glucose numbers. And all three of the hosts also revealed how much caffeine they are drinking on a daily basis – keeping in mind that the average person consumes about 200mg of caffeine a day.
One host consumed less than 200mg a day.
One host consumed about 600mg a day.
And then me. 900mg give or take.
So I made the choice to give up sodas and energy drinks all together. Cold turkey. Today is just day one, and it’s still morning, so I have nothing to report.
I am allowed to drink coffee in the morning still. And Jill introduced me to Splenda Flavors For Coffee, which are these little sugar-free flavor packets that you put in your coffee…and they are A-MAZING. Seriously. I’m sipping on a mocha right now. Even people who have a functioning pancreas would enjoy these flavors.

Each year I try to pick a mantra that becomes a reoccuring theme in the decisions I make. Last year’s mantra was, “You know what you want; don’t settle.”
This year my mantra is, “Don’t dream it; Be it.”
If you’re familiar with The Rocky Horror Picture Show, you might recognize that line from Frank’s finale song.
So this year, don’t dream it…be it.
My friend Phillip helped me pick the mantra when we were talking about RHPS a couple of weeks ago. The reason I’m blogging it now is because he just sent me an .mp3 of the mantra, and it’s pretty good. I wanted to share.

On the 12th day of each month a bunch of bloggers take 12 photos of their day. Here are mine for December.
If you’d like to see the collection of everyone’s photos, go to Chad’s page.
And I convinced some folks to do 12 of 12 too:
** Enrico
** The Prissy Cook
** MoistnMeaty

She gives us a reason to wake up in the morning. I love the hell out of this dog.

Reason #2.
Isn’t it funny how we have to squeeze in computer time before we rush to work and sit on a computer for a dozen hours…only to get home and get on the computer again.

It’s the law.

Boyfriend swears the parking break is good for me…I forget why. I’ve been trying earnestly to use it.

I inconveniently finished my book this morning. I had to make an emergency book run to Target.

Mail.

This is posted so I don’t have to answer, “Mr. Mike! What are we doing today?”

Online training through BGCA. One hour of my life I will never get back.

I pass this billboard a few times per day, and each time I imagine how I’d spend the millions….and I never play the lotto.

Wearing my inspirational shirt today.

Going for a walk.

Reason #449 that I love working with youth: spontaneous creativity.

I don’t know about you, but if adding “Miss” in front of my name made it synonymous with an unintended pregnancy loss that takes place before the 20th week of gestation and is usually accompanied by grief from the parents, I would skip the vanity plates.
I saw this on my lunch break today:

I went to the doctor’s office today and got some new insulin. I’m hoping that this will help me feel better.
