I’m just over half way finished with my 50,000 word novel. I’m ending tonight at 50,011 words. I’ve had a rough weekend when it comes to writing. Everything has been distracting me. Hopefully the 2nd half will all be down hill.
I’m a data nerd, so I’ve been keeping track of the number of words I write per-day. The graph looks like this:
And I’ve also kept track of the number of minutes I spend sitting at the computer…which means I can make a graph like this one:
As Daniel points out, this graph isn’t actually my typing speed, but it’s an average of how many words I typed per minute for the day.
f you don’t know what 12 of 12 is, here’s the basics: On the 12th day of each month bloggers all over the world take 12 photos throughout the day and post them on their blogs. It’s Chad Darnell’s idea, and you can see his website and a list of links here.
I’m plugging away on my NaNoWriMo novel (I’m currently 1,000 words shy of today’s goal), but I wanted to throw up this cute picture of Beezus I stole from Dan’s Facebook:
I tweeted last night that I was drinking a daiquiri made with Crystal Light, and I had a few people ask for the recipe. It’s so easy to make them, so I made this quick video:
I’ve mentioned this before: I have a huge love of sitcom theme songs. It’s sad that TV airtime is too valuable to waste on a good lengthy theme song. Instead we get stuff like this from Courtney Cox’s new show Cougar Town:
What the hell?
Here’s another ABC show. Their intro is slightly longer but still ridiculously short. It’s from Modern Family.
This is what a theme song should look like. In my opinion, one of the best on TV right now. From The Office:
On the same note, probably written by same of the same folks (don’t quote me on that) is Parks and Recreation:
Whatever happened to the story being part of the intro? Remember this:
What’s your favorite theme song right now? Or do you just not care about them??
November 1st, bitches. NaNoWriMo started today. So far, I’m ahead of the game…my goal is 1,667 words a day. Blogging might be light for the next couple of weeks, but maybe I’ll throw up NaNoWriMo updates here and there.
In a kind of related note, Daniel is doing National Blog Posting Month, and is trying to post one blog post a day for the entire month. Check him out here.
If you’re doing NaNoWriMo, be my writing buddy here.
