This is the one with my 12 of 12 for August.

Friday, August 13th, 2010

On the 12th day of each month bloggers from all over the world take 12 photos of their day.  The 12 of 12 project was Chad’s idea, and you can go to his website to see the links of all the people who participated this month.

And you can see all of my 12 of 12s by going to my 12 of 12 page.

Here are my photos from August 12, 2010:

I had to iron my shirt before going to work.  I hate ironing.

Pandora in the car.

Pretty slow day at work.  I only had one appointment.

This is the drawing I posted with yesterday’s blog post.

I’ve been weighing myself every day before lunch because I want to graph my bizarro weight fluctuation.  Maybe I’ll post the graph here in a few days.

I had every intention of photographing my lunch, but I was too hungry and I ate it before remembering.  So instead you get this.

Ditto.

I’m running the homework room for this week and next.  Fun.

I met up with Daniel for coffee after work.  Except Lola closes super early for some reason.  Dumb.  We sat outside and talked for a little while.

Dinner with Drew.

Big Brother before bed.

And I must have a dog picture, don’t I?  This is Ms. Chloe.

This is the one with my July 2010 pictures.

Here are my photos from July 12, 2010.

Our art instructor is out at the Club, and I “created” this art project for one of our junior staff to run with the children.  This is just chalk and white paint.

I don’t have permission to post this kid’s picture.  But her shirt was funny.

This is my announcement board for the summer.  I’m really bad at making bulletin boards.

This is our junior staff teaching children how to do the art project I came up with.

I had to stay late because our teen director is in Europe for the month.  Boo!  So I kicked back at her desk and put my feet all over her crap.

So I was going to try to do an entire week of drinking nothing but water.  Only a special few knew about the water-only week…and I’ve yet to tell them I’ve failed.

I <3 Arizona sky.  This is an ugly picture of it…but I need to use it to make an even twelve.

When I got home I put on my nerd outfit.

Strips.

This pin is on my meter case.

Embarrassingly high.

I crawled into bed with Hunter S. Thompson’s Rum Diary.

After working out I went to my favorite place in Tempe…the Public Library.  And this visit earned me the mayorship on Foursquare.

I ended up getting a book on CD (a book I’ve read about five times…don’t ask) and the newest James Patterson paperback.

Nobody has ever been able to give me a definitive answer to this very important question: is it legal to drive while listening to an iPod?

I stopped at work to get some crap done that I knew I wouldn’t have time to do next week.  Summer Camp is both fun and exhausting.  Eleven hour workdays are draining.

This is my in-box.  Half of it just needs to be filed away.  The other half is crap I haven’t had time to look at yet.

Stopped and had coffee with Drew at Lola Coffee in Phoenix.

I love this building.  Hanny’s is an old department store that they’ve turned into a restaurant/bar.  Totally over-priced but the building is freaking cool.

Too many people are tweeting about and Facebook about soccer.  Totally bugs.  Maybe I’m just jealous that I don’t get it.

Thanks to a review on Yelp, Drew and I found a quaint Vietnamese place that was delicious and cheap as hell.

This is Chloe.  She is too hyper to sit still for pictures.  This is the best one out of about 100.

I hate the term “night-cap” to describe an alcoholic beverage sipped right before bed or at the end of an evening.  Therefore I will not use that term to describe this Coke Zero and Vodka beverage that was consumed before calling it a night.

The ever-so persistent D.  Gotta check my blood before bed.

I got in late on the 11th, and ended up sleeping in until 8am.  Usually I like to LEAVE by 8am.

My mom is on a prayer chain, and writes notes like these that she keeps in her pockets and pulls out to pray for people when she is bored.

My nerdy dinosaur shirt has transitioned into a gym shirt.

Almost empty.

Thirty dollars later.

This stuff is amazing.

After the gym I remembered that I have earned a free medium iced coffee.  Yippee for customer-loyalty programs!

I’ve got connections.  Instead of a medium, my pals at Dunkin hooked me up with a large.

Because of the large number of podcasts I’m listening to every day, I have to update this little thing daily.

Aubrey painted me this water-color.  This picture doesn’t even do the colors justice…it’s a pretty painting.  It’s hard to see it, but there is someone leaving the scene on the far left.  All you can see is the dude’s foot.

The pretty drive home.

So I’ve been dating this book for a few days, and it’s getting really serious really fast.  We slept together last night.

Here are my photos from April 12, 2010.

The mornings start early for me. Even though I don't have to be to work until 11, I get up early to take care of the dooogs.

Beezus LOVES Olive's dog bed more than her own.

We've finally unpacked all of my nuns. This one is sitting on my desk and I snapped a shot while working on some stuff for iEATbooks.

When I went to get a coffee refill, this is what I found.

We have a county head-start program in our building, and I believe this was posted by a pre-school teacher.

Tweeting about my 12 of 12.

My officemate is being super healthy...and I'm not. Guess which beverage belongs to who.

At home we filled two gumball machines with wine corks and beer caps.

And we framed 9 of Dan's Dad's records. We're going to hang them in a grid.

This is Dan telling me all about his day in jury duty. He got picked to be on a jury...and it's going to be a long one. And he'll be able to write a John Grisham-like novel about his experiences.

Meatloaf before bed.

This is the one with my (late) 12 of 12.

Because of the move, I’m pretty late posting my 12 of 12.  Forgive me.  If you don’t know what 12 of 12 is, here’s the basics: On the 12th day of each month bloggers all over the world take 12 photos throughout the day and post them on their blogs. Here are my photos from January 12, 2010.  This should be called “The Diabetes Edition” of my 12 of 12:

What a cute face! Beezus is getting big, right?

Dan and I are obsessed with these Not-A-Paper-Cup ceramic coffee mugs. They look like disposable coffee cups, but are made of glass and can be washed in the dishwasher.

Kind of a boring morning for 12 of 12...I had a meeting in Gilbert until almost 1:30. Bleh.

My office-mate is kind of disorganized, and it drives me nutso! This is what I'm greeted with each day when I arrive.

When our members arrived I took a couple of minutes to play some CandyLand. Damn, my job is hard.

We installed these lights in both bathrooms. It's kind of dark, but you can see the paint color too.

This is the beginning to a very long night. 233 is WAY too high.

My friend Lee Ann Thill writes a blog called The Butter Compartment, named after the place that most of us keep our insulin. Maybe I should create a blog called "The Mustard Shelf."

After some insulin, my blood glucose level is slowly creeping down. 196 is still too high. I'd be happy at 85 or 90.

Getting there...

Not on target, but close enough to go to bed.

Fucking Diabetes. I woke up feeling panicked and shaky, and tested. 66 is too low. I drink some Mountain Dew and wait.

Exhausting. This picture is taken after 2 a.m...which is technically the 13th, but whatever.

This is the one with a promise.

I did my 12 of 12 yesterday…but I only have access to the MacBook which doesn’t play nicely with my digital camera, and doesn’t have Adobe Photoshop on it.  So I’ll be posting them this weekend.  I swear.

This is the one with my 12 of 12 for November.

bestbuy

Last July I broke my digital camera.  I really jacked it up.

That’s why I missed the 12 of 12 in August.

I was really upset about not having a digital camera because I’m not in a place to afford a new one, and I really loved my camera.  But then I started thinking that when I bought the camera I had purchased a 2 year warranty.  So I dug through the boxes that I have in my parents’ garage and found the warranty that was valid through December 2009.

I brought the camera into Best Buy and the Geek Squad shipped the camera off to Geek Squad headquarters.

That’s why I missed the 12 of 12 in September.

There was a little bit of drama where the camera wasn’t fixed properly, and it had to be sent away again…but the short story is this: I have my camera back, and it works!

So I’ll be taking pictures again, and I’ll be participating in the 12 of 12 tomorrow.
