This is the one with a few links.

Published by User ImageMike Lawson under world-wide wednesday

Every Wednesday I share a handful of links that I’ve gathered from the corners of the world-wide web.  Here’s what I’ve got this week.

** Paraprosdokian - Did you know there was a name for that?  Me neither.

** Chore Buster - Enter your household chores, their desirability, and the people that have to do them.  ChoreBuster.net organizes a chore chart that is fair.  Wish I had this as a kid.

** More Productive Feed Reading - A list of 10 steps to make your feed reading time more productive.

** Tips For Meeting Your Future Self - It could happen…and it would be best if you were prepared.

** SuperCook - I’ve had this idea, and I’m glad to see this website.  You enter all of the food that you have in your kitchen, and the website will tell you what recipes you can cook.

This is the one with my favorite Twitterers to follow.

Published by User ImageMike Lawson under world-wide wednesday

Every week I share a handful of links that I’ve come across on the world-wide web. This week I’m sharing some of my favorite Twitter feeds to follow.

** Happy Thought - One happy thought a day.

** Astro Pisces - Receive your horoscope via a daily tweet.

** CNN Breaking News - Whenever big news breaks, CNN will send you a tweet.

** The Buddha - Get an mind-calming message (that just happens to be inspired by Buddhist teachings) every day.

** Hobo Jones - Follow this fictional Twitter feed of a hobo living on the streets. A sad/humorous look into a life many of us haven’t ever been able to get this close to.

** The Cookbook - Tiny recipes condensed into the small 140-character box. Kind of impressive.

** MrMikeLawson - That’s my feed. If you read my blog, start following me!

Every Wednesday I share a handful of links I’ve found on the www.  Here’s what I’ve got this week:

** Memo For Me - Too lazy or unable to log into your email?  This site lets you send yourself an email without ever logging in.

** Simply Noise - Love it!  I’m totally addicted to this in-browser white noise maker.  This can help cure a headache, keep out unwanted noise, help you sleep.

** Office Dares - A fun list of office dares and their point values.

** FuelFrog - Track your mileage, mpg, and what you’re paying for gasoline.

This is the one with a bunch of YouTube links.

Published by User ImageMike Lawson under world-wide wednesday

Every Wednesday I post a handful of links to things that have tickled me from across the World-Wide Web.  Today I’m directing you to a bunch of YouTube vids that amused me.

** The Best Graduation Speech Ever - The title isn’t mine, but I do think this is a pretty good graduation speech.

** Red Sox fan in New York - Love it!  A Boston fan (in Red Sox gear) wanders Yankee stadium with his camera rolling.  CAUTION: Some profanity.

** Slow motion bitch-slap - A slap to the face in super slow motion.  Freaking unbelievable.  Look at his nose!!

** Bohemian Rhapsody A Capella - I heart the UC Men’s Octet.  This is their take on the Queen classic.

** Bush Speech Mistakes - A few (of the hundreds) of Bush’s speech blunders.  Food on your family?  The last one is my favorite because you can see the cogs in his head turning as he tries to think of the saying.

** Defenders of Marriage - Roy Zimmerman performs his funny song about marriage and the people that want to stop me from marrying the person I love.

** Kathy Griffin On The View - Ha!  This is a compilation from The View.  It’s filmed on the day after the Rosie/Elizabeth feud and the guest host is Kathy Griffin.  So great.

** This will make you feel small - Tiny, actually.

** Wi-Fi Detector Shirt - Who wouldn’t want to see the signal strength of the wi-fi on their chest?

Every Wednesday I spend a little bit of time to share a few links that I’ve found on the web this past week.  Here’s what I’ve got today:

** FuckingThingSucks.com - I’ll do it live!  You’ve seen the Bill O’Riley video, now buy a shirt.

** A Classic Burn - Holy Crap!  She quit like that!

** Hidden Google Secrets - You probably know a few of these.

** Every Thursday A Theme - Every Thursday they give you a theme…this would be great in an office.  This Thursday is feigning Catholicism day.

** TimeMachiner.com - Send yourself or someone else an email in the future.

** Spread Firefox Day - The Mozilla guys want to get into Guiness Book of World Records…they want to have everyone download Firefox on the same day.  Sign up to get an email on the day they release the file.

** TypeRacer - Be careful!!  This one is addictive.

** Mail Them A Brick - Sick of junk mail?  Send them a brick.
** Analogy - I’m not sure if this would ever be useful, but it’s an interesting thing to look at.
** Things younger than John McCain - What does the magic eightball, Keith Richards, the ballpoint pen, and zip codes have in common?

Every Wednesday I share a handful of links I’ve discovered from all over the web. Here’s what i came up with this week.

** It’s A Wonderful Internet - This is an animated short about what life would be like without the internet.

** Einstein or Monroe? - I’m sure this has been floating around the net for some time. But it freaked my freak. Look at the picture close up and you see Albert Einstein. Step away and look, and it turns into Marilyn Monroe.

** Kid T-Shirt - If I had a baby, (s)he would totally be wearing this right now.

** Penzu - I guess you could do the same thing with Google Documents…but this is an online personal journaling program. And its free.

** JINX! - The rules to “Jinx” according to Wikipedia.
