This is the one about my new BFF.

So I’m totally besties with Kevin Spacey.

As you know, I was in New Orleans last weekend, and I had a kind of run-in with Usual Suspects/American Beauty/LA Confidential actor Kevin Spacey…or K-Space as I now call him.

It started when we went to breakfast at The Alpine Bistro on Saturday.  When we walked in, I instantly spotted K-Space sitting at a table with some other dude.  “That’s Kevin Spacey,” I said under my breath to KC and Daniel.

“That is not Kevin Spacey,” Dan replied loudly.  He’s used to my faux celebrity spottings, and acted how he always does.

Well this time I was right!  K-Space instantly covered his face when Dan yelled out his name.

And as luck would have it, we got seated right next to him.  The three of us were really courteous.  We didn’t run up and ask for a photo or interrupt his breakfast.  We just all got on our phones and Tweeted the experience.  My tweet was:

Holy crap Kevin Spacey is sitting next to us at the Alpine cafe in New Orleans.

We had a fun time teasing our friend Erin that wasn’t able to attend breakfast with us because she was participating in some HR conference (the entire reason for the trip).

The following morning we went to The Court Of  Two Sisters (which I keep calling The Tale Of Two Sisters) for a Sunday brunch and guess who showed up?  My bro…K-Space!

The only problem was that K-Space brought his dog, and The Court of… doesn’t allow dogs (even celebrity dogs).  So I twittered this:

Dang, @kevinspacey is stalking us! He showed up at The Court of Two Sisters and was turned away because he had a dog.

You’ll notice that I “@” him, thinking he might get a laugh out of the tweet.  Well, he did read it…and he replied!

@MrMikeLawson Manager was very nice so didn’t feel ‘turned away’. Some places can’t have dogs, though they should be allowed everywhere!

For some reason it feels good when anyone replies to my tweets…but it feel particularly good when Lester Burnham K-Space does it!

I replied to K-Space and said:

@KevinSpacey totally understand. We will let you know where we are eating tonight….so “stalking” can commence again.

K-Space never replied.  I’m sure he’s just really focused on his new movie.
