This is the one where I cave.

Mr. D. bought me 2 packages of sugar-free Peeps, so I couldn’t be rude and not eat them, right?  Yeah, I totally gobbled them up.  And then I needed to post a picture of me eating them…so I was forced to go out to Wal-Mart and purchase another package (or 2).  I make major sacrifices for this blog.

At least they are not available year round.

That would be true a few years ago…but they are now making Peeps for just about every holiday. At least after Easter I don’t have anything to worry about until Fourth of July.

Can you tell the difference? I love Peeps and I have to pass them up because of the sugar as well. I miss them sooooo much.

These are almost identical to the sugar infused version. The texture of the marshmallow is kind of different but it doesn’t take away from the taste. Now, if they were only as cheap as the regular peeps… but that would be asking too much, right?

    Beeker,

The sugary outside isn’t exactly the same…less granular. But the taste is spot on. There’s one (tiny) problem that you should be aware of: consuming large quantities of sugar substitutes can have a laxative-like effect.

    That’s serious.
    :)

I think that three little chicks for a dollar is a bit excessive…but if you were living a life where you thought you were never going to taste another marshmellowie cloud of heaven, it is totally worth it.
    :)

I would cave too peeps are too good not to pass up, even if they lack the sugary greatness.
