This is the one about my urine.

This is kind of gross…it’s about my pee.
About a year ago the ventilation fan in my bathroom went out, and at that same time a gross black mold started growing in my toilet. I talked with my apartment manager and had the motor in the fan replaced. And even with the new motor and with a very regular cleaning regiment, the mold just wouldn’t go away.
Gross, right?
It wasn’t until a few months later (after getting diagnosed with diabetes) when I was reading up and realized that people with high glucose levels piss out a lot of that sugar…which is a breeding ground for mold. My piss was the reason for the mold.
If anyone is googling “black mold diabetes” and they happen to stumble across this post, I give you two pieces of advice:
- Test the blood glucose levels of people that pee in that toilet. Start with anyone that has experienced unquenchable thirst lately. Or anyone that has experienced a lot of weight loss.
- Clorox bleach tabs are amazing. Drop one of these tabs in the tank of your toilet and the mold disappears. The only problem is that until your diabetic controls his blood glucose level, you’ll start getting mold again as soon as the tab needs to be replaced.
If you don’t have diabetes and have never had black mold growing in your toilet, this post has probably been pretty useless for you. Sorry.

I don’t mean to brag, but I CALLED IT!!!
Kinda figured it was a body chemistry issue.
And somehow you blamed it on the cute roommate.
Just one of your many stories that I seem to remember *slightly* differently.
lol ok that explains can’t-get-rid-of-mold in the loo, but what about in the bedroom? lol you probably don’t have an answer for that. It’s ok. You always have entertaining posts, so it doesn’t matter :)
