This is the one where I say what I need to say.

Me and the boyfriend went to John Mayer’s concert here in Phoenix on Wednesday night. And it was pretty great–it is actually high on my list of great concerts that I’ve personally attended.
John Mayer can just play the hell out of a guitar. I was impressed.
I was only disappointed that he didn’t play my favorite song…but here’s a good YouTube of him performing “Another You” on Letterman:
I didn’t bring my camera (intentionally), and Mr. D. took a few photos. The photo at the top of this post, and the one below were both taken by him.

When I bought the tickets I was a little worried about the heat - the concert took place in an outdoor ampitheater during an Arizonan July - but it was only slightly uncomfortable.
There were also a good number of homosexuals and high school kids (and homosexual high school kids sitting next to us). So the strong cologne smell overwhelmed the nostrils, and there weren’t any glaring body odor issues.

@cheapblueguitar you leaving?? Or just singing?

I believe we said it smelled like a mall… which isn’t a bad thing. Sort of like all the store brand scents (Aero, American Eagle, Abercrombie) and AXE mixed together.
That top photograph looks awesome!
I was going to see him tonight here in Dallas, but decided to wait and see Janet Jackson (with my husband who is constantly lusting after her) in October. Maybe the next time John Mayer is in town he will have “Dreaming of a Broken Heart” on his set list since I hear he doesn’t perform it now. :(
Dreaming WITH a Broken Heart… not Of.
OMG he cut his hair shorter. And now I LOVE his tattoos. I used to say I much preferred the preppy look but God damn he looks hot. Did Mr. D take any more photos? Glad you enjoyed the concert!!
It was pretty kick-ass. Yes, Mr. D. took some more photos and you can check them out at his Flickr page here.
He is an awesome musician. Have you heard about his latest push to regulate poperatzi (sp?) in L.A.? I think it’s a pretty awesome move for him to take.
And what happened to the old layout? It was a little softer on the edges and the eyes.
Thanks Mike :) faved a few of his photos. Mr. D’s a pretty good photographer!
