This is the one where I’m still considered a guest.
When I arrived here in Arizona my mom had a diabetes magazine (which she has subscribed to) and a job hunting magazine laid out on my bed. They also planned a special dinner that was meat and sugar free.
I wonder how long I’ll be able to ride out the guest-status. Any guesses?

@cheapblueguitar you leaving?? Or just singing?

I give it a week. :)
Hi Mike, a comps-study-break, belated welcome to the Valley!
In the wealthy Old South, you could stay until the hosts left a pineapple on your bed. (Since it is technically a ’symbol of hospitality’ [http://www.levins.com/pineapple.html], its surface message was welcoming, but the ironic message was clear in that backhanded compliment way we Southerners do so well.)
PS: This welcome has no backhanded meaning. (I’m just in hyperanalytic mode til Thursday.)
PPS: I now hope ’symbolic uses of pineapples’ is on my exams.
I study now.
