I did it.
Pitted against a merciless deadline and battling hordes of distractions–including the most tempting fall TV season that’s been unleashed upon novelist in decades–I kept at it.
I’ve done something amazing this month, and to be frank, I couldn’t be more proud of myself.
Now I’ve got to worry about re-writing this piece of shit novel.
Mike Lawson likes to tell mostly true stories. He’s been known to, on very rare occasions, embellish some of his stories with what some would call lies. He works all day at a youth-serving non-profit organization in Tempe, Arizona.
He’s a total nerd that isn’t really even worth knowing, unless you want to talk books or politics. He’s more Thelma than Louise. More Jerry than Tom. More Fred than Ethel. More Randy than Simon.
He loves caffeine, attention, Photoshop, progressive politics, seeing results, eating entirely too fast, contemporary fiction, seeing kids reach their potential and knowing the answer to people’s questions.
He hates Charlie horses, realizing it’s already Sunday, social injustice and Celine Dion.
